Kings County Prevention Awards
The Kings County Prevention Awards acknowledges the simple fact that prevention works because of the countless individuals in the county who put in the work. The Prevention Awards celebrate the incredible work of our great community by honoring those individuals working towards prevention. Beginning in 2005, the Kings County Prevention Awards acknowledge, appreciate, and applaud service providers, businesses, teachers, and other community members for ensuring the brightest future possible for Kings County.

To celebrate these achievements, Kings Partnership hosts the annual Prevention Awards ceremony each year on the 1st Thursday after Thanksgiving. The ceremony currently honors nominees and winners of the following categories:
  • Greatest Contribution to Youth Development
  • Greatest Contribution to Parent Support
  • Youth Award: Outstanding Contribution to Community
  • Most Innovative Prevention Program
  • Excellence in Prevention Programming
  • Lifetime Achievement in Prevention
  • Excellence in Community Collaboration

PREVENTION AWARD SPONSORSHIPS

 

* Youth Award-Outstanding Contribution Scholarship Sponsor *

In order to receive the full benefits of your sponsorship, we ask that you submit a partnership packet, payment, and logo before November 1st.

Sponsor a scholarship toward the educational success of youth in the community who has made an outstanding contribution to their community through volunteerism, leadership, or prevention work. Scholarships will be awarded to students to assist with fees relating to books, school supplies, and/or equipment required for courses. 

 

Scholarships can be made in amounts between $500 - $2,500. 

 

This package includes:

  • Social media recognition
  • Recognition in the event program
  • Your logo on the Prevention Awards website page
  • A quarter-page ad in the Prevention Awards playbill
  • Your entity name on the Prevention Award trophy for the winner [Donated by ____]
  • Promotion in a press release written after the event to be posted on KPFP website and newsletter 
  • The opportunity to be on stage during the award presentation and take a picture with the awardee 

* Individual Award Sponsor *

In order to receive the full benefits of your sponsorship, we ask that you submit a partnership packet, payment, and logo before November 1st.

Sponsor the purchase of a Prevention Award for one of the following categories:

  • Greatest Contribution to Youth Development: This award goes to the organization or entity in the community that conducts prevention programs that have done the most for youth development. These can include but are NOT limited to: recreation programs, mentoring programs, youth groups, sports teams, drama programs, choirs, etc.

  • Greatest Contribution to Parent Support: This award goes to the organization or entity in the community that conducts prevention programs that have done the most for parent support. These can include but are NOT limited to: parenting classes, family development, recreational activities, community events, etc.

  • Most Innovative Prevention Program: This award honors a prevention program that has demonstrated an innovative or creative, progressive, unusual, out-of-the-box approach to prevention programming.

  • Excellence in Prevention Programming: The “Best Overall." This award is for any prevention program creating positive change in the lives of Kings County community members.

  • Lifetime Achievement in Prevention: This award is for an individual or an organization that helped make Prevention History in Kings County. It does not have to be from an event long ago, but it can be a current contributor who has done something significant which will change the face of Prevention in Kings County.

  • Excellence in Community Collaboration: This award is for a Prevention Partner who is outstanding in collaboration efforts; they are always at the table and anxious to collaborate for the good of the community. The criteria require that this prevention partner not only partners with the Coalition but with various prevention advocates and agencies throughout the county year-round.

Sponsorship will be in the amount of $50.00. This cost includes the pricing of the trophy.
