MISSION
Injuries caused by violence against men, women, and children are a growing and serious problem in our community.
To build a comprehensive, participatory, and collective effort to eliminate violence against men, women, and children in Kings County including establishing synergistic partnerships to foster a safe living environment for all residents, create a platform of open communication and flow of information with relevant organizations, and combine domestic violence and sexual violence under one collaborative task force.

THE CLOTHESLINE PROJECT
The Clothesline Project is a visual display of violence statistics that often go ignored and unreported. Each shirt is made by a survivor of violence or by someone who has lost a loved one to violence. The violence is not limited to domestic violence or sexual assault/abuse. The color of each shirt represents a different type of violence.
The purpose of the project is to increase awareness of the impact of violence and abuse, to honor a survivor’s strength to continue and to provide another avenue for them to courageously break the silence that often surrounds their experience.
