Building a safer, healthier, and more resilient Kings County
Overview: The Extreme Heat & Climate Resilience (EHCR) Workgroup brings together local organizations, residents, and community voices to build resilience against extreme heat. This initiative supports the Kings County Office of Emergency Services (OES) in developing and strengthening the Extreme Heat Resiliency Plan—ensuring that local perspectives and lived experiences shape how our county prepares for hotter, drier summers.

2-1-1 Kings County Climate Resource Portal
We’re partnering with Kings United Way to expand the 2-1-1 system! The new Climate Resilience Workflow will list:

Health and emergency resources

Environmental and community support services
Available in English and Spanish through the 2-1-1 website, app, and text service.
Community Implementation Framework
Once the OES Extreme Heat Resiliency Plan is finalized, the EHCR Workgroup will publish a Community Implementation Framework — a guide featuring:

Strategies to strengthen long-term resilience efforts
The framework will be available for download in 2026.
